I really wanted to like the 1000HA - for all the positive reasons expressed in the reviews. I had three units with all the same problems, so I finally gave up on the 1000HA and bought the Samsung NC10 (which I have now had for two weeks or so - home run with the first unit).
I had two main problems with the 1000HA: speakers crackled and the housing around the battery quickly loosened up so that too much play developed around the battery. Mind you, I experienced these problems with three different units.
If these kinds of issues don't bother you, the 1000HA is otherwise a great machine.
