The eeePC is amazing....so much computer, in such a tiny package. Everything works as hoped. I added a second gig of memory, by exchanging the memory with a 2 gig chip. The system runs at a reasonable speed for an XP machine. It's as fast as my HP Full laptop. I do miss a DVD/CD drive on occassion, but that's a trade off for something so light and easy to take with you.
The camera in the lid works great. The networking is great. It's pretty quiet and doesn't seem to run too hot. The Keyboard shift button on the right is wayyyy over as other's have said, but I'm already getting used to it for the most part, so it's just not a big problem or deal breaker.
The biggest bonus is that the hard disk was pre split into 2 drives, so I installed the NEW WINDOWS 7 BETA onto my eeePC tonight. It installed without destroying the native WinXP that came with the computer,(dual boot)and it's running great! Vista is beaten by a beta...go figure! Win7 is solid so far on my eee without a crash or even hesitation. I'm very impressed. The speed is at least = to Windows XP
So you can't go wrong with the 1000HA....Even with the shiny exterior finger print likely case, you can't beat the deal!
