ASUS Eee PC 1000HA 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel ATOM N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, 10 GB E-Storage, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Fine Ebony

I got tired of waiting for Apple to introduce a low-cost light weight replacement for my ancient 12-inch iBook. Just needed something small and light for travel that could do fast internet surfing, e-mail downloading and word processing (I'm a freelance auto writer). I have a 24-inch iMac that I love as my main computer and spending $1300 or more on a new MacBook was overkill and oversized for my needs. If that's what you need, don't pass this baby by. Keyboard/touchpad not a major problem. Wi-Fi works great, screen resolution is excellent, speed with 2GB RAM upgrade (5 minute operation) is very good. Battery life running full tilt is almost 5 hours. Weighs a tad over 3 lbs plus the power cord that is neither bulky nor heavy. Acer too small and cheaply made. H-P nice but larger, costlier, poor reliability. Lovable little machine. Only negative is dealing with Windows after 9 yrs of reliable more intuitive Mac OSX. Had to dump 40 bucks on anti-virus software.
