I had been searching for a netbook for a few month's now, and i finally decided on the ASUS 1000HA, for a number of reasons. having owned a few other ASUS products in the past, I have had very good experience with them, and as this is one of the newest models in their line, they have just fixed all the kinks that had shown up in previous models.
THe biggest complaint I hear is the keyboard, as well as the right shift key. This is a netbook, the keyboard is going to be small either way, and the 1000HA boasts a 95% sized keyboard compared to most full sized laptops. I always use the left shift key, so the right one being small is not an issue as well. Along with the 10in screen, the 6 hour battery life, and the 160gig hard drive (chose over SSD due to wanting larger space) I feel this laptop is a winner, and I have been happy with it so far. On a side note, the wireless connectivity is amazing, i was getting a better signal than the wireless signal in my desktop, both connecting to a router on the opposite side of my house, on the 1st floor, while i am on the 2nd.
I rate this product a 5 star, but on another side note, I would rate Amazons shipping a 3. It came very fast, but their packaging is not up to par with some companies. The Asus box was packaged inside another bigger box with a few pieces of bubble wrap, leaving the box able to slide around. Just something to consider if you are paranoid about your shipments coming damaged, but Amazon is rated on of the cheapest and best online retailers so that's why i went with them, and they do have great customer service if something should go wrong.
